A customer needed a reliable way to label iPads for school deployment—ensuring each device received the correct label and that it was placed precisely to remain visible through packaging.
Solution
EMP developed a custom semi-automatic print-and-apply system built around a high-precision CAB SQ 1000 applicator, integrated with BarTender for accurate data handling. The solution included interchangeable fixtures to consistently position devices and allow quick changeovers between product types.
Story
EMP worked closely with the customer to design a solution centered on precision and usability. Early in the process, it became clear that traditional high-speed print-and-apply systems were too large and not suited for this slower, precision-focused application. Instead, the team selected a compact, high-accuracy CAB applicator that better matched the need. Custom 3D fixtures were engineered to securely position each device, while barcode scanning and BarTender integration ensured the correct label was applied every time. The semi-automatic setup, including a simple foot-pedal operation, gives operators full control without sacrificing consistency. The result is a tailored, ready-to-run system that balances precision with efficiency—demonstrating EMP’s commitment to thoughtful engineering, strong communication, and delivering the right solution for each unique application making yet again, converting complicated problems into fool proof solutions.
