The “EMP” in EMP Technical Group stands for Enterprise Marking Products who is our sister company that produces pressure sensitive labels. Labels are in our DNA and are still a big part of what we do here every day. ¼ of our building is full of labels that we are holding for customers. The UPS and FedEx drivers don’t like us much, because labels are heavy, and they have 50 or 100 heavy cases of labels going out of our building on a good day.
So, we can’t talk about labels enough, even though on the surface they may seem boring. Boring until they don’t work, or you ran out, and you cannot ship anything because of the issue, then things get exciting!
What kind of labels do we sell and inventory for customers, several kinds, but primarily what we would call data labels. Labels that are blank and ready to have data such as barcodes printed on them. Die cut and on rolls that are sized for the label printer you are using. Also, labels for industrial ink jet printers which require a special coating on the face as well as custom roll sizes to fit in the printer.
Stock labels that are the usual sizes that many customers use, as well as custom labels with custom printing done at the plant at time of converting. All the way up to decorative labels with up to eight colors that are used on the customers products as the prime label.
