Inventory Application Using MCL

Problem

A customer was using pen and paper to track warehouse inventory. They were often losing or misplacing thousands of dollars worth of inventory each day.

Solution

EMP’s Tech Team supplied Zebra TC73’s and wrote an inventory application for them using MCL designed to identify, verify, and eventually upload the scanned data to then be inputted within the customer’s ERP.

Story

A magnetic wire manufacturer had been forced to take inventory by hand after their old barcode scanners became obsolete. This temporary process often led to misplaced or lost products, losing thousands of dollars per shipment. To solve the issue, EMP supplied Zebra TC73’s and built a custom application on them using MCL. The app allows operators to select the product type—pallet, package, or part—from a list, then scan the item. That data is sent through a RESTful API to the customer’s ERP system, where it is verified and marked as counted. Thanks to EMP’s rapid development, the customer can now track inventory seamlessly and with confidence.
