I have to chuckle when I see companies touting their groups large amount of experience in a certain field. They talk about decades of experience within their group. A rough estimate of the years of experience in our small group is 350 years.
That is 350 years in the very niche automatic identification industry. Doing barcode scanning, mobile computing, label printing, RFID, machine vision, and wireless networking. Not to mention printer repairs, media, and project work.
We have just under 35 people in our group, so that is an average of over 10 years per person in our industry, mostly with our company. Sure, we have some relatively new people working for us that skew the numbers down. But we also have some 30+ years of experience in our industry within our group.
I was just describing stainless steel barcode scanning wands and keyboard wedges to some of the newer people. Lots of DOS based mobile computers, narrow band, FCC licensed wireless communications, serial cables for communications. That strong knowledge of the history of our industry allows us to best help our customers find the right modern mix of products and services for their needs.
I sit in on the support email chain that customers use to request and receive support from our group. I am blown away almost daily by the quick and very correct answers that our group gives to our customers. Some very obscure knowledge that would take you hours, or even days to get from the manufacturers that we represent. It would take that long because you would have to start with level 1 support and then level 2, and then finally you would get to someone with the expertise that our group has to provide the correct answer.
If you are looking for a technology partner with centuries of experience, the EMP Tech Group is for you.
