New products are fun, right? New things to learn for sure. New tools in our tool belts to help solve problems with. Possibly new problems that we need to figure out for ourselves before we recommend new products to you.
One of these new products from Zebra that might be fun but looks really boring is the Zebra ZEC500 Android Computer. Take the brains of a mobile computer and put it in a stationary box. Now that most applications are either built for Android or for a browser, trying to support full Windows PC’s is no longer necessary.
Another new product is the TC22R from Zebra. For several years now Zebra has been focusing on separate RFID sleds for their TC mobile computers to add RFID capabilities. There are many advantages to this approach, but simplicity is not one of them. There are many items that you need to order to put an entire solution together with this product approach. The TC22R makes this ordering process much easier, with one SKU that has it all.
A slightly less revolutionary new product is the ET401 from Zebra. An evolved version of the ET40/45 that has been a great consumer tablet fighter for Zebra. Very low-price rivaling consumer tablets, but much more rugged, built in barcode scanner and RFID, Zebra’s much enhanced version of Android, and it is a 4 and 4 product, meaning Zebra will produce it for 4 years and then support it for 4 more years after that. Probably 4X the life expectancy of a consumer product.
And that is just some of the new products from Zebra! This doesn’t count the new product lines that we added last year. Drones, robots, RFID application software, Smart Shelf tags, etc. We are ready to hit the ground running in 2026 and can’t wait to come see you to show you some of our new goodies.
