It has been exactly 3 years this month since we featured Mobile Power Carts in this newsletter, September of 2021 was the last time. But they are featured in our project work almost every month. Such a handy tool to have for on demand label printing, parts picking, shipping, even using them as mobile RFID readers. We have used mobile power carts in a wide range of customer solutions.
This month’s customer solution talks about multiple printers on a single cart, each with a different color label, all being controlled by a laptop, running a custom application that is sending the label data to the proper background color for printing.
We have even featured the Frankenstein cart that we use in our own operations, complete with an ink jet printer for pack slips, and a scale for weighing parcels.
The biggest breakthrough in mobile power carts has been lithium batteries. The carts are half the weight that they used to be, the batteries have many times more charge cycles before they need replaced, and with a separate charger and two slot battery base, the carts can run perpetually. Just hot swap the battery out when it starts to get low.
