I don’t know if you heard, but EMP Tech Group is an Employee Owned Business. Just kidding, we know we have talked about it maybe a little too much. But it is a big change for our company and our employees, with very little change in the day to day operations.
Same people managing the business, same people working in the business, same customers, same products being sold, serviced and integrated. But undoubtedly with a little more zip in our step. A little more appreciation for our group and our work.
Raises being given out as happens most years, but maybe a little bigger this year. Benefits becoming a little more generous, with more days for personal time and unused vacation time being paid out.
One of the cooler things that we see is outsiders talking to us with some envy in their voice, wishing that the company they worked for was employee owned with the culture, benefits and retirement dollars that come with it. Other business owners not wanting to talk about it, because it sort of makes them look bad. So, next year, we are turning over a new leaf. We aren’t going to talk about being Employee Owned as much in our newsletter. We are going to let the years go by with the ESOP accounts of each employee becoming better every year. Accounts that become more valuable as we keep serving our customers and being excellent partners to our supplier lines. Continuing to put together cool technology solutions that make our customers more efficient. Doing the work that we love and living our lives.
