This definitely falls under the category of “why didn’t we think of this sooner”. We have seen the use case over and over again. The operator needs a label printer right in front of them as they process products on a conveyor or a table. The heavy printer needs to be cantilevered over the conveyor or table below, so you need a base plate with bolt holes to bolt the stand to the floor. You also need a rail around the top plate holding the printer, just tall enough to hold it in place, but not so tall that it gets in the way of opening the side door to change media.
And if we are going to make it a product, we need it made from formed steel channels, that are powder coated. A way to adjust the height but still have it be stable and secure. Have the top plate just large enough to accept a 6” wide printer, but not so wide that it is too big for a 4” printer. Have cable guides on the column for the data and power cables that the printer needs.
Don’t forget you may need a place for fan-folded labels to sit, a slot in the base for liner waste, a monitor mount and a PC tray. All able to be attached to the stand as options.
