We have been featuring the WS50 in our Newsletters and Customer Solutions for some time now. What an interesting little, wearable device that is a ring scanner with a mobile computer. Now with RFID included in the device.
The immediate drawback is the lack of a keyboard and a very small screen. But when you have programming superpowers like our group, that isn’t much of a challenge. We just whip up an application using MCL and can quickly have an application running for you on a wearable device.
Sure, that is great for barcode scanning, but what about RFID. Now this small, two finger device has built in RFID as well. And a hot swappable battery for multi shift applications.
So, you need to do an end of line check to be sure the RFID tags are encoded correctly? Scan a barcode, then read the tags to be sure they are present, readable, and have the correct data encoded. All with a very small wearable device. All in a standalone form factor, or one that can send the data wirelessly back to your system software.
