Tariffs are causing price increases in the products that we sell. But not all of them, and not by the same amount. That is because Zebra and many of our other suppliers manufacture their products all over the globe. China seems to still produce the lion’s share of the power supplies used. But mobile computers, bar code scanners, RFID readers, label printers are produced everywhere. Singapore, Vietnam, Malysia, Mexico, and yes, China.
That has made it really hard to navigate the price increases. Because some of the more popular items that we sell, such as TC5X and MC9X have not had an increase. But ET4X and TC2X are having substantial price increases. Some RFID fixed readers are also being hit hard by the tariffs.
Hopefully the impending trade wars will calm down in the coming months and we can get back to serving our customers without having to spend energy on price increases. But in the meantime, we will notify as soon as possible and try to mitigate increases if at all possible.
